Lodge St Michael No.246
At the regular meeting of Lodge St Michael No.246 held on Thursday 16 April 2026, the Lodge was visited by the Provincial Grand Master, Brother Bill Rocks, who attended the meeting at the invitation of the Lodge, and took part in the presentation of a 50-year jubilee certificate and jewel.
The highlight of the evening was the celebration of Brother Ian Shepherd Greig, who marked the milestone of 50 years in Freemasonry. Brother Greig was originally initiated into Lodge St Michael on 15 April 1976, and his half-century of service to the Craft was recognised by all in attendance.
The presentation of the 50-year jubilee certificate and jewel was carried out by Immediate Past Master Brother Brian Rumgay. In a meaningful connection, Brother Rumgay himself had been proposed into the Lodge by Brother Greig, adding a personal connection to the proceedings and underlining the lasting influence Brother Greig has had within the Lodge. Brother Graham Webster Master of Lodge Dalhousie No.679 in the Province of Forfashire mad a personal presentation thanking Brother Greig for the support shown to him and his Lodge.
Brother Greig is regarded as a committed stalwart of Lodge St Michael. While much of his work has been carried out quietly in the background, his contributions have been invaluable. He has consistently worked away supporting the Lodge and assisting the brethren in every way he can.
