Lodge Coupar o' Fife No.19

Lodge Coupar o' Fife No.19 conducted a marathon charity cycle event to raise funds for Motor Neuron Disease research (MND Scotland). This took place during the last weekend in April starting at 1300 hours on Friday 29 April through day and night to 1300 hours on Sunday 01 May.

Jo Knowlton's world fell apart when she was diagnosed with MND, aged just 29. She was fit and healthy and worked in a job she enjoyed as a scenes of crime officer based in Dundee. MND has gradually took away her independence and she now relies on a wheelchair and a ventilator to help her breathe.

One of her former work colleagues Graeme Bain the Master of Lodge Coupar o’ Fife No.19, wanting to do something to help asked the members of the lodge to organise the charity cycle

The cheque presentation for MND Scotland was on Wednesday 25 May 2022. It was for the magnificent sum of £5,251.35. The Lodge and friends cycled on two fixed bikes some 1,246 miles. Covering the distance from Grand Lodge of Scotland – Edinburgh, to United Grand Lodge of England – London to Grand Lodge of Ireland – Dublin and home to Cupar and then some!!

The event involved businesses in the town and beyond, cyclists from within Freemasonry and the community. A real community event.
