Lodge Lindores No.106
Brother James T.L. Aitken Past Master Cycle Challenge.
A presentation took place on Wednesday 01 July 2026, when Brother Jim Aitken, Past Master and Secretary of Lodge Lindores No.106, presented a cheque for the remarkable sum of £7,821.31 to Fiona of Macmillan Cancer Care.
The funds were raised through Jim's charity cycling challenge, in which he successfully completed the E-tape Loch Ness Cycle Route. This is a closed-road cycling event which covers a demanding 66-mile circular route around Loch Ness, starting and finishing in Inverness, and is recognised as one of Scotland's premier cycling events.
Jim's achievement is particularly noteworthy as he completed the challenge after recently undergoing surgery on both knees.
The success of Jim's fundraising campaign was made possible through the generosity of many individuals and organisations. A proportion of the sponsorship was donated by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross, together with numerous Lodges throughout the Province, as well as generous support from Brethren in the Provinces of Perthshire East and Forfarshire.
The photograph shows Brother Jim Aitken presenting the cheque to Fiona from Macmillan Cancer Care, accompanied by Provincial Grand Master Brother Bill Rocks, hopefully an effort that will help Macmillan continue its invaluable work supporting people living with cancer and their families.
