Rededication Ceremony Lodge Rothes No.532
Lodge Rothes No.532 returned home to Leslie on Wednesday 10th February 2016. After spending 2 years in Markinch, meeting in the premises belonging to Lodge Balgonie No.764 after their own premises suffered damage from a fire on 1st January 2014.
The Masonic Hall at 171 High Street Leslie KY6 3AF has been restored and upgraded to a high standard.
The RWM welcomed the PGM Bro. Rev Andrew Paterson and his deputation into the Lodge to Redidicate the Lodge room, the carpet and the gavel.
All of these tasks were very ably carried out by the PGM and his PG Chaplain Bro. Ian Cockburn, assisted by the PG DoC Bro. Alex Cuthbert and the PGL Wardens Bro. Alan Watson and Bro. Steven Hampshaw.
The PGM in his closing remarks was very careful to ensure that he thanked those Brethren that had supported Rothes over the last couple of years but in particular he picked out the RWM and Brethren of Lodge Balgonie No.764 for their hospitality and support, the PGS Bro. Bob Christie and the DPGM Bro. Stewart Quigley for their particular support to the administration team of the Lodge. Tribute was also paid to those Brethren that had affiliated to give their talents to support the Lodge, finally he gave thanks to Bro John Heron RWM Lodge Earl Haig No.1260 for the new gavels that he had presented to the Lodge and these were also dedicated with prayer.
The evening finished with a great harmony full of memories, banter and dreams for the future.
Over 100 Brethren were present to support Lodge Rothes No.532, all in all a great night.
Those Brethren I am sure all left wishing the greatest of success to Lodge Rothes for the years ahead back home in Leslie.
