Lodge Wemyss No.777
The Provincial Grand Master Brother Bill Rocks attended Lodge Wemyss No.777 on Thursday 17 October 2024, accompanied by a deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge. They were there to assist in presenting a fifty-year jubilee certificate to an honorary member of Lodge Wemyss, Brother Richard Grieve Ouston PM, a Freemason of the English Constitution. The certificate being issued by the United Grand Lodge of England.
Brother Oustan was initiated into Lodge St Thomas’s No.142 in the Metropolitan District of London under the United Grand Lodge of England on 14 May 1973. He served that Lodge as Master from 1980 to 981.
He joined Wyche Lodge No.3638 in 1982 and served as Master of that Lodge from 1987 to 1988. He then joined Mimmine and Bergnet Lodge No.4932 in 2004 and served that Lodge as Master from 2014 to 2015. He then took on the post of Secretary from 2015 before giving up this office due to ill health.
On moving to Fife in 2010, he contacted Lodge Wemyss No.777 and was invited to attend their meetings and has been a regular attender since that time. He was made an Honorary Member of Lodge Wemyss in 2013.
Fife members of Mimmine and Bergnet Lodge No.4932 travelled up to visit Lodge Wemyss after making the necessary arrangements for this presentation they were led by W Brother David Bond P.Prov.G.Swd.B.
