Lodge St. John No.35
Lodge St. John No.35 held a special meeting on Thursday 26th July 2018 when they welcomed one of their members back into the Lodge after an absence of over 50 years. Bro. Ritchie Wallace who was born in St. Andrews and worked as a dairyman in the Falkland area, joined Lodge St. John No.35 on 22nd of November 1962 as a 23 year old young man.
After going through his various degrees within Lodge St. John No.35 he decided that he would go to Australia for a four year working holiday. However after moving to Australia and his children growing up there it became apparent that his life was to continue in the southern hemisphere.
He joined Lodge Rosslyn No.102 where he went on to take the chair as Master of that Lodge. As he was home on a visit Lodge St. John arranged a meeting in order that he could attend his Mother Lodge when Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. Stewart Quigley presented him with a Jubilee Certificate to mark over 50 year a member of Lodge St. John No.35. Bro. Wallace gave a suitable reply and presented the Lodge with his original Lodge St. John Apron.
The degree work this evening was in the second or Fellow Craft Degree when a team of Office Bearers made up from members of Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross carried out an exemplification of that degree on Bro. Gary Walls a Master Mason currently W.S.W of Lodge St. John No.540.
