Lodge Kinneddar No.1239
Lodge Kinneddar No.1239 held a celebration dinner within the Saline Golf Club on Saturday 02 November 2024 to mark the centenary of Lodge Kinneddar No.1239. Although four years late due to the Covid-19 pandemic which had put the celebrations on hold.
The Master of Lodge Kinneddar welcomed all present to this celebration dinner. He gave a short history of the Lodge, explaining that when the Lodge was formed in 1920, the working week at that time was six days, and that the most favourable day to hold Lodge meetings was on a Saturday. At the inaugural meeting of the Lodge various Lodges were represented some of which were Lodge St. John No.26, Lodge Minto No.385, Lodge St. John No.540, The Princes Lodge No.607 in the Province of Glasgow, Lodge St. Servanus No.771 in the Province of Stirlingshire, Lodge Elgin and Bruce No.1077, Lodge Torrie No.1140 and Lodge Ballingry No.1183 of which 46 founding members were in attendance.
Substitute Provincial Grand Master Brother Craig Thompson suitably replied on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge and visitors.
Past Masters Jewels from Masters of the Lodge who served from 1923 - 1926 Brother Charles Whyte and from 1942 - 1944 Brother John Whyte were passed round to be viewed by those present.
Lodge Kinneddar in light of the current climate has now voted to change the day of meetings from a Saturday to the third Monday of the months from September to April and we all wish theme every success in this change of meeting day.
